2 Euro commemorating the 500th anniversary of the first printed edition in Estonian and the beginning of Estonian literary culture. The Estonian text, along with Livonian and Latvian, was first found in a book printed in Lübeck in 1525, the circulation of which was destroyed by opponents of the Reformation. In 1739, the Bible was translated into the Middle North Estonian dialect, which later formed the basis of the written language.
