The obverse of the coin shows an image of an open copy of the Spanish Constitution. On the upper part of the coin, in a circular shape and in capital letters, the legend CONSTITUCIÓN ESPAÑOLA and the dates 1978 and 2018, arranged around the image of one of the lions sculpted by Ponciano Ponzano, which has guarded the Palace of the Congress of Deputies since 1872
