Cayon cites in his auction of 4 February 2012 that: From a text dated 24 September of this 1709, we know of the process of making this coin: "they manufacture that of the Mill, with the obligation to have the Mills current of cuts, weights and pay the mules of said Mills, and these same foremen or masters of wheels have the obligation to cast the serrage to the coin to the edge". The document also tells us that the work was divided between flyers and mills: from the former came the four, two and single reales, in silver, and the entire golden series.
